Ink & watercolor
These celestial leaping dolphins were pure joy to create! After making the repeating pattern, I came up with a couple different colorways and coordinating wave patterns to complete this mini collection.
I also adapted one of my dolphin drawings from this piece into a wall hanging, laser cut from wood. I used thinned acrylic paints to mimic a stained or watercolor look so the beautiful wood grain shows through. I used specialized glitter paint to make the sun, moon, and stars sparkle and catch the light. Once fully dry, the finishing touch was several thick coats of super shiny gloss varnish to give it a resin-like finish.
